Once upon a time a group of people who wanted to bring the art of Oral Storytelling back to life got together and created a Guild. They worked tirelessly to create just the perfect ambiance to make the Storytellers Events a moment in time for all to remember. Folks gathered from all around to hear the Storytellers “spin their tales” and all delighted in the fun. Children listened with wide eyed interest and adults let their inner child come out and play. Soon all the “listeners” yearned to become Storytellers so they too could mesmerize people with the stories stirring in their own minds.

– The Storytellers Guild decided to have workshops and open mike events and even “liar’s contests” to see who could actually tell the “worst story ever”. Once a month the towns people would gather with their families and listen and participate in the ancient art of Storytelling. They brought old stories remembered from their own ancestors back to life and memory. They exaggerated ideas into magical mystery tours and created cowpokes with trusty steeds. They made up dragons and sweet little cherubs and they shared their dreams by the spoken words

– Soon the land became famous and hundreds of thousands of people would show up to hear the ideas being woven into stories. Children of young age began to mimic the adults and soon the youngest of lads and lasses were traveling into their own imaginary land of spoken words.

– The older “Tellers” gave workshops in order to teach the new “Tellers” how to use their voices and gestures to make each story more exciting and imaginative. All together worked for one cause … to simply entertain and share history, happiness, and imagination with others of like mindedness.

– No one dared to criticize or make fun of anyone else’s stories because everyone knew their was NO STORY better than the other… just “Original”. And all had the right to be UNIQUE.

– Soon a funny thing began to happen. All the people began to walk around all their day long and think up stories in their mind. They would find themselves grinning and smiling as the stories weaved their way into their minds and out of their mouths. They could not resist sharing the story with someone else just to see if it gave them as much pleasure.

– And so it was , that in a society where crime and violence exists one small but growing group of people met to make lighthearted fun for all to enjoy.

– And they all “ Lived Happily Ever After” …
