About Story Weavers

StoryWeavers.Org is just a group of everyday individuals who love to listen to someone Orally “ Spin a Story” for the purpose of entertainment, enlightenment and socialization.

There are many Professional Storytelling Guilds , Festivals, Workshops, etc that have been organized for many years. They currently hold worldwide events where thousands of people get together for the sheer pleasure of the “Art” called Storytelling.

            Our collective dream is to bring this Art back into our Community. We hope to bring in enough sponsors and grants to Host our own Storytelling Events monthly. Another goal of ours is to educate both adults and children alike to learn to be their own “Storyteller”

We are working with That! Texas Magazine to bring the community into awareness of our goals and aspirations. They are sponsoring a  full page for articles, biographies, event calendar, etc. toward this goal.

            We are also working with the Texas Commission on the Arts for grant money to bring their “qualified” tellers into the area schools, festivals, and monthly meetings we host.

            Our goal is to get local individuals and businesses to commit to a monthly donation ( or one time donations are also gladly accepted ) to keep these events FREE to the community.

            We are just “giving birth”  to this Organization and would love to have input, ideas and help from interested persons who wish to be involved.

            Anyone wishing to join our efforts can contact us through this web site or by phone and we will discuss how you can help make these dreams into reality.

            Volunteers can help organize events, seat at the events, become amateur Storytellers and spend 6-8 minutes “spinning a tale”  to a captive audience, or help with mail outs , etc and be a right hand to those who are working to make it happen.
